Hey, everyone, you can discuss my blog posting of the "Ultimate Linspire 5 Review", right here. Tell me what you think of my review.
thanks, admin |

Sort of concise, but I think you did a decent job.
It would have been nice if you included a section on performace - if you installed Linspire 5 w/the Reiserfs4 option, did you notice a significant speed difference (specifically, boot times and program startup times)? Also, Does it come with any other DM/DE's? Oh and a somewhat unrelated thing: the background you used on the review webpage makes it somewhat hard to read, maybe you can change that? Other than that, pretty good! W00t first comment =) |

Overall, I think your review and your rating are quite fair. I don't think, however, that Linspire is the ONLY worthy Microsoft XP alternative out there. If you want some other worthwhile alternatives to examine, try out SimplyMEPIS 3.3 and Xandros OCD 301 for starters. Both of them are very easy to install, too. Their installations ask very few questions, both of them have pretty good hardware detection, and they are designed with the beginner in mind. All three are viable alternatives to XP, and these are only three that I've mentioned in the limited time I have to jot this note. You can reach me at Email masinick AT yahoo DOT com if you want to discuss desktop Linux systems any time. I'll answer as soon as I get some free time. Brian Masinick |

I certainly would consider trying out those other distros. Thanks for the suggestions. Any more comments?
